The beauty of Lake Titicaca Floating Village

Located at an altitude of 3812 meters in the Peruvian desert, here there are 40 floating islands. Originally created by the Uros people of Peru from Inca times, these beautiful islands are used to escape and take refuge from the war never stopped in his homeland.
Uros tribe way this can really make them difficult to reach by the aggressor, and because it is done very well by their communities for centuries, it seems there is no reason to move to the mainland.

Made with a hand full of rigor, this floating village composed of layers of thatch grass tortora who put together and tied into a floating base structure, such as a pontoon. The result is like a giant raft, and incredibly able to withstand heavy loads and large.

The islands are actually quite sophisticated and could be forced burdened but also must be repaired on a regular basis to maintain its strength. When the old weeds started regardless of its basic structure, new weeds replace the surface. Grass weeds are taken carefully from the edge of the lake Titicaca. These islands are anchored in place with ropes tied to wooden poles to the bottom.

Only a few of the islands who would receive visitors, which does not mean it is not good because there are reports of the Uros tribe living tradition is changing rapidly because of increasing their interaction with tourists. the inhabitants of the lake is regarded himself as a protector of the lake and supposedly ahead of the Inca civilization, and according to legend from generation to generation, there's even before the sun, stars and moon. No wonder they're worried pestered by people who want to know a lot about them.
